Electrodialysis Calculator |
Electrodialysis (ED) is used to transport salt ions from one solution through ion-exchange membranes to another solution.
I = ( F * N * Q * E1 ) / ( n * E2 )
Where N = Normality of the solution, F = Faraday's Constant = 96487 coulombs/g-equivalent, Q = Flow rate, I = Current Passed through Ion exchange membrane, E1 = Removal Efficiency, n = Number of cells, E2 = Current Efficiency.
For example when Solution normality (N) = 1 gram-equivalents/liter, Flow rate (Q) = 0.2 liter/second, Removal efficiency (E1) = 0.1, Number of cells (n) = 20, Current efficiency (E2) = 0.5, then Current (I) = 64.32466666666667
