Greatest common factor Calculator |
In mathematics, the greatest common factor (gcf), also known as the greatest common divisor (gcd), greatest common measure (gcm), or highest common factor (hcf), of two or more integers, is the largest positive integer that divides the numbers without a remainder.
For example
To number 100, divisors are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100.
To number 500, divisors are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 125, 250, 500. (Use Divisors Calculator get the divisor/factor.)
The common factors of 10 and 500 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100. So the greatest common factor is 100.
For example, gcd(54,24) = 6.
