Perpendicular Line Equation Through a Point Calculator |
Giving one line, the slope is m. The perpendicular line should flip the slope m and change the sign, so the perpendicular slope is -1/m.
To line: ax + by = c and Point: (x1,y1)
Perpendicular Line: Y = (b/a)X - (b/a)x1 + y1
For example, line: 2x + 3y = 1, point(4,5), then the Perpendicular Line slope is 1.5. Perpendicular line equation: Y = 1.5X -1.
